Hello, My name is Neysa Horyna and I am the Kansas Preschool Program Teacher at McClure Elementary. This is my third year of teaching for Topeka Public Schools. I joined the district after completion of my Masters in Early Childhood Education which I earned from the University of Kansas in 2009. I am proud to say that I went through a unified degree program which made it possible for me to acquire my teaching license in both general and special education. All students, regardless of their needs, are welcomed into my classroom.
Ms. Nikki Morris is the paraprofessional in our classroom. Miss Nikki is originally from Chicago and has been attending college in addition to working in our classroom. Miss Nikki and I take the team approach to our student’s education and we both share the same enthusiasm and joy of teaching. We consider it a privilege to be your child’s first formal teachers and we take the position that working in collaboration with the parents, the child’s first teacher, is the best approach to helping our students reach their full potential.
Both Miss Nikki and I are proud to be a part of the Kansas Preschool Program of District #501. The Topeka Public School Program has state of the art teaching curriculum. In addition to the curriculum we are also given ongoing support and training opportunities which keep us current on successful teaching practices.
Ms. Nikki and I both feel that by taking up a career in teaching we have been given in return, a lifetime of joyous learning from our students. Thank you for the privilege of working with your children.
